Bits & Bytes Vol. I

TopSpinOne of the blog posts here, recently got picked up by HypeBot, a nationally recognized music technology blog. Special thanks to my friend, Paul Schatzkin, for getting them to pay attention.

TopSpin is a music marketing platform that will soon be open to all indie musicians. The self serve version will be launched at South by Southwest in about a week or so.

ICI’ll get to present at Vinny Ribas’ Indie Connect event next week. I’ll be speaking on digital media music marketing on Monday, March 14th at 11:30 am. The event will be held at Corky’s BBQ in Brentwood, TN. Just show up. It’s $10 plus cost of your meal.

I also recently spoke at Deanna Walker’s Blair Hit Songwriter Series. I got to "open" for the incomparable Ruby Amanfu of Sam & Ruby in her maiden voyage as an event speaker.

Here’s what one of the students got as a "take home message." Many thanks to Deanna for letting me present.

My session on comparing different music marketing platforms will be on the slate at PodcampPodCamp Nashville. If you’re a musician, artist or songwriter and have never attended PodCamp, you should consider going. I’ve put together a guide for musicians planning on attending PodCamp. Did I mention it’s free? The event will be held on Saturday, March 26th at Cadillac Ranch.

David Beronja was kind enough to get me on the Nashville Tech Feed podcast to talk about PodCamp. Check it out.

There’s more stuff coming together in my effort to make digital media education for musicians, artists and songwriters a fixed part of the Nashville landscape. Stay tuned!
